Candy Bag Class June 2016

DON’T FEAR THE ZIP! – Shelley Taylor
$5 + supplies
Are you afraid of zippers?  Are you afraid of the zipper teeth, zipper stop, zipper pull?  Don’t want to make anything with a zipper?  Do you feel you need therapy when you hear the word, dare I say, Zipper?
Then this is the therapy session for you.  Learn everything and anything about zippers.  And while your at it, test your new skills on this bag, made from a candy bag.  That’s right a candy bag!  All you need to bring is your favorite candy (still in the bag) and a zipper.   Just make sure the zipper is at least 2-3” longer than the bag, and a fat quarter for the lining.  The guild will supply a kit that will include the batting and iron-on vinyl.  You will want to make several because you will not be afraid any longer.

Service Quilt Instructions 2016

Please bring your finished blocks to the May meeting!

For this year's service quilt we will be making these star blocks. We each took index cards with a color listed. The color you chose is your BACKGROUND color. Make two blocks with that background color and either a red or blue star.

One block should be traditional red, white, and blue, and one should be more "country" colors with cream and muted reds and blues.

Finished block size is 12"
